Artist's Biography Born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, he completed his first musical studies at the Escuela Libre de Msica of San Juan in the Trombone studio of Antonio Salcedo Corps continuing studies at Indiana University Bloomington Jacobs School of Music with Keith Brown.
He holds a Bachelor of Music in Trombone Performance and Artist Diploma from Indiana University. He was awarded the Indiana University Performance Certificate and was winner of the 1989 Concerto Competition. He has received grants and awards from the New York Philharmonic M.A.F., The National Society of Arts and Letters, The Hispanic-American Society and honors in the Ima Hogg Music Competition and the T.I.M. Music Competition.
He was appointed Principal Trombone of the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra in 1991. Since then he has performed as soloist with the Royal Seville Symphony Orchestra, the ARTAVE Orchestra in Portugal and has performed under some of the worlds most renowned conductors such as Yuri Temirkanov, Michael Tilson Thomas, Sir Georg Solti, Leonard Bernstein, Neeme Yarvi, Joel Levi, among others.
Mr. Rosario presents Trombone Recitals regularly in Spain and has performed as soloist in Portugal, Puerto Rico, Spain, Colombia, Dominican Republic and the United States.
His teaching agenda include holding week long master classes and musical courses in Conservatories in Spain. He has been guest professor of music at the University of Seville Jazz Improvisation and creative music courses.
Recently he has had a two week long artist residence in Valparaiso, Indiana that included a Jazz Concert with the Jazz Band at the Valparaiso H.S. and a Trombone Recital with the Valparaiso Sinfonietta. He has been guest lecturer at the 64th annual Midwest Clinic in December 2010 in Chicago.
Future teaching engagements for 2011 include week long clinics at the Conservatories of Mlaga, Crdoba, Badajoz and artist residences in Punta Umbria for the Summer International Music Courses for the Huelva University and at the summer music courses at Toro and in Miranda de Ebro, all in Spain. Concerts with the Seville Trombone Quartet in Utrera and Sevilla, and with the southern Spain based Jazz Trombone Quintet Bone-idol.
