Artist's Biography Michael Mann is a freelance trumpeter in the Twin Cities area where he lives with his wife Amy. He previously taught trumpet at Indiana State University and coached brass chamber music. In addition to his teaching duties, Michael also was a member of the Indiana State University Faculty Brass Quintet. While at Indiana State University, Michael also performed with the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra.
Michael recently returned from China where he performed with the Indiana State University Faculty Brass Quintet and taught for a week at the Shenyang Conservatory in Shenyang, China.
During his seven years as a freelance musician and teacher in the Oklahoma City Metropolitan area, Michael performed with the Enid Symphony and Oklahoma City Philharmonic Orchestras, as well as the University of Oklahoma Accademia Filarmonica, Flatlands Brass Quintet and Searcy-Sudgen Brass Quartet.
Michael has studied primarily with Dr. Karl Sievers, and has had additional studies with Jay Wilkinson, Martin Saunders, Mark Wilcox, James Reed, James Stokes Jr., and William Adam. Michael is a member of the International Trumpet Guild.
