Artist's Biography
He began to study trombone in 1993 with professor Casimiro Campos at the Conservatorio Nacional de Musica in Lima, Peru. In 1998 won a scholarship to continue studies at the Conservatorio Dramatico y Musical "Dr. Carlos de Campos de Tatui" in Sao Paulo, Brazil, where he studied with Professor Gilberto Gagliardi. During his stay in Brazil he also took supplementary classes with Wagner Polistchuk.

He has received master classes from Jean Raffard, Jacques Mauger, Joseph Alessi, Enrique Crespo, Carlos Ovejero, Ricardo Casero, Javier Colomer, Jorgen Van Rijen, Ben Van Dijk,Eckhard Treichel and Branimir Slokar

He has participated in the II Encuentro Latinoamericano de Trombones; XVII Oficina de Musica de Curitiba; Festival de Isla Soltera; Festival de Invierno de Campos do Jordao (1998-2000, 2002 y 2003); V Festival Internacional de Trombon Tuba y Bombardino de Muro de Alcoy, Alicante – Spain; and the II Festival Internacional de Musica Vila de LOlleria Valencia-Spain.

He has performed as a soloist with Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional del Peru, and the Band Juvenil of Conservatorio Dramatico y Musical "Dr. Carlos de Campos de Tatui" in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He also had performed at the Orquesta de Vientos Brasilera, Brasil Metal Brass Band, Orquesta Sinfonica Paulista and the Band from Estado de Sao Paulo.

He has been a clinician at the Curso para trombones y Tubas "Trombonanza" in Santa Fe, Argentina; at the III Encuentro Nacional de Bronces in Arequipa, Peru; and at the VII Festival de Vientos in Trujillo, I Curso de Especializacion para Trombones in Piura-Peru and I Festival Internacional Carlos Gomes in Campinas

Currently Carlos Quiroz Ramirez serves as Professor of Trombone and Instructor of the Brass Section at the Conservatorio Nacional de Musica of Peru; Assistant Trombonist at the Orquesta Sinfonica Nacional; member of "Sound Brass" quintet; Leads "Trombomania" Trombone Ensemble, He is the coordinator and host of "Peru Low Brass" an annual international course for Euphonium, Trombone and Tuba and an artist for Conn-Selmer, Inc., playing Vincent Bach trombones, model LT42TGH with special engraving.
